Local broadband provider Twin Valley is bringing back its fourth annual drive-thru event to give away hams ahead of the Christmas Holiday. In addition to Clay Center and Bennington, the community of Minneapolis – which is set to be Twin Valley’s next fiber connected community – has been added as a third giveaway location. The free hams will be given to any resident on a first-come, first-served basis.
Hams will be handed out on Thursday, December 7, at 4:30 pm for each community:
There are no income guidelines or other restrictions other than one ham per vehicle while supplies last – no rain checks.
“In our Pledge, we committed to facilitating meaningful community outreach initiatives. Each year, there are cars lined up around the block to get a free ham for the holidays, so clearly there’s a need,” Twin Valley President & CEO Ben Foster said. “We are proud to partner with local grocer Ray’s Apple Market to continue helping local families in need have a nice holiday meal with their loved ones.”
In Clay Center, the line will form heading east along Harriet. Cars will enter the fairgrounds at the corner of 12th and Harriet. Vehicles cannot enter the line westbound on Harriet or from 12th Street. Volunteers will be onsite to direct traffic.
In Bennington, cars will enter the church parking lot from the west by the mailbox.
For Minneapolis, cars can enter the park from the north and turn left into the loop.
Employees from Twin Valley and event partner Ray’s Apple Market will help direct traffic and hand out hams to local residents. Participants are asked to stay in their vehicles.
Twin Valley will post on its Facebook page once supplies have run out.
