What has been your career path?
Over 29 years of my career has been in telecommunications and broadband. In 1995, I joined a large company where I spent 10 years in various roles, starting in a call center supporting large businesses and later transitioning to working with long distance carriers where I gained knowledge in industry processes and systems. Moving to a position at headquarters presented me with opportunities to lead teams on process development and documentation, system development and documentation and working across business segments to streamline processes and systems at the parent company level.  In 2005, I joined Twin Valley where I’ve worked for 19 1/2 years. Through this opportunity, I have gained a well-rounded view of what it takes to provide telecommunication and broadband services in rural areas, and it has allowed me to learn more about the industry in its entirety. My current role as an operations leader allows me to serve in varying areas of the business with a focus on billing, carrier relations, regulatory compliance, and bringing broadband to underserved areas by leveraging state and national grant programs.

Who are your mentors and how have they influenced your career?
I’ve been fortunate to have numerous incredible mentors throughout my career, each offering a distinct perspective and contributing significantly to my personal and professional growth.

Best advice for a woman wanting to enter your field?
Always seek learning opportunities in your role, outside of your role, and in your industry. Focus on achieving a work-life harmony which can allow you to recharge. Don’t sell yourself short, you were made to do great things.

What do you like most about your job?
I like the diverse range of responsibilities that bring fresh opportunities daily.
